Angmering students ‘inspired’ by Paralympian’s tales

A BLIND gold medal-winning Paralympian visited students at The Angmering School in an effort to inspire them to achieve great things in life.

As part of Sky Sports Living for Sports’ “Change Your Game” scheme, Paralympic runner Tim Prendergast – who achieved gold in the 800m during the 2004 games in Athens – spoke to children at the school about how he overcame years of bullying and his physical disability to reach the top level of the sport.

During his time at the secondary, Tim ran a workshop as part of Angmering’s “Inspire” education programme. It saw him discussing his experiences of competing in the Paralympics and how important a positive outlook was in overcoming the challenges he faced.
