Compulsory water meters for West Sussex?

HOUSEHOLDERS in West Sussex could be forced to have water meters installed if current public consultation comes down on the side of bills according to amount of water used.

Water metering in areas affected by serious water shortages, including West Sussex is being proposed by the government and the Environment Agency, and now the South East Regional Assembly has added its voice to the suggestion.

The government is asking if water firms should have compulsory metering as an option in their management plans. People can have their say over the consultation until 24 April.
