Some train services resume
There are no direct trains from Brighton to London after the overnight storm caused flooding in Balcombe Tunnel, electrical problems and blockages due to fallen trees and branches.
A spokesman for the train operator said: “We are currently trying gauge the full extent of this damage and the prospect for operating services safely.”
Only the listed services are currently operating:

Beckenham Jnc – London Bridge – Beckenham Jnc
Caterham – East Croydon/London Bridge – Caterham
Oxted/East Grinstead – London Bridge – Oxted East Grinstead

Barnham – Bognor Regis – Barnham
Brighton – Eastbourne – Brighton
Brighton – Newhaven – Brighton
