Free fridge for best Lec recollections
The current owner of Lec – Glen Dimplex Home Appliances – has offered the appliance as a prize in a competition to mark the brand’s 70th anniversary.
Sime Darby, which owns the site where the fridge freezer factory stood until last year, has decided to award the model T5309W combi fridge freezer to the winner of the most interesting story or reflection of their experience with Lec in its buildings on Shripney Road.

The prize was donated during a recent exhibition about the history of Lec in Bognor at the town’s museum.
The six-day display was a great success, with many ex-employees went along to share their recollections.
Some donated items, and they included a cut-away compressor used for training. Others wrote down their memories.
