Disgraceful decision
Both hospitals are very necessary.
Sussex is a very spread county with a rising population, and many people living in the west of the county will be denied adequate medical care.
They will have to travel to Worthing or Portsmouth and add to already overloaded resources.

Hide AdIt is clear that the people making these decisions care only for appeasing their political masters and protecting their bonuses.
I may be accused of being cynical but I believe that we in the south are being treated with contempt because we do not have many Labour MPs or marginal seats for the government to worry about.
Although Worthing has survived this time, it would not be a major surprise if it was downgraded at a later stage, when the decision makers believe that the dust has safely settled.
