LETTER: Awareness of fostering process

This year’s LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) Adoption and Fostering Week runs from Monday, March 3 and aims to raise awareness and educate prospective parents and carers about the process involved.

At West Sussex County Council, we are looking for foster carers and adoptive parents from all walks of life to come forward. A person’s marital status or sexuality simply isn’t as important as ensuring they can offer a safe, secure and stable home to a vulnerable child or young person.

We look for people who will be good parents, who are patient, energetic, with a good sense of humour and who will treat children and young people as individuals, whilst being able to maintain boundaries and provide the security our children need.
