A boost to the Covid Winter Grant Scheme means East Sussex has gained more than £500k to cover the two-week Easter break.

The grant scheme, which aims to help vulnerable children stay warm and well-fed, sees councils given additional funding by the government and focuses on supporting low-income families with food and essential utility bills.

East Sussex has been given £554,473 in extra support as part of the £7.6m given to 19 councils in the south east for the scheme to run until April 16.
