The resident said the incident, which involved a tree and rubbish catching fire, happened in Hazelwood Avenue at around 6pm on Sunday, June 25.
Firefighters from Eastbourne and Bexhill attended the blaze and used two hose reel jets to put the fire out, according to East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service.
The fire service added: “There were no casualties. Police were in attendance to assist the fire service with road closures. The cause of the fire is being investigated.”
