The project was founded by musician and composer David Stanley in Southend, Essex, and Bexhill resident Leisa Jones became aware of the project when her brother, who attended this school, showed her a video of the session.
She was so impressed, she called David Stanley and asked if she could start a school in Bexhill.

“Our students are very talented and are making excellent progress on the wide range of instruments made available to them through the Mencap Charity.”
Leisa runs the school with her daughter Cashmeira.

“She is a talented musician and a dynamic teacher and we are honoured to welcome her into The Music Man Project family.

Leisa is already working on plans to expand the lessons to Saturday mornings as well as the afternoon session.
She said: “We are already rehearsing for our first concert, which is fantastic.”
