Mr Grayling is the guest speaker for the Chichester Conservative Party’s annual dinner on December 8 and the Chichester Green Party and others will be waiting for him at the Assembly Rooms.
Members believe that local councils have failed to plan for adequate public transport in and around the city, resulting in the peak time traffic problems currently experienced.

Hide AdGreen city councillor Sarah Sharp said: “The so-called consultation has been the most appalling process. We have the north and south of the city divided and people living in the south are devastated by the prospect of developments making their lives a misery in the years to come. “No one has considered that spending the available money on simple improvements as well as upgraded and improved public transport, cycling and walking facilities would have a huge impact on the rush hour traffic.”
The Green Party and Transition Chichester members, along with new group, Chichester Moves On and many concerned residents from villages south of the A27 say they will be waiting for Mr Grayling as he arrives at the Assembly Rooms.
They plan to hand the minister an open letter, telling him about the divisions that have been caused in the city by his government’s heavy-handed approach to the recent public consultation.
Highways England is currently reviewing feedback from the now closed public consultation over five options for changes to the current stretch of road.
