And state-of-the art play equipment has been provided for the children of the town.

In addition there is a seesaw and a roundabout.

Vice chairman of the council Roger Hanauer told the Observer: “It is not before time that the playground facilities have been updated and we are proud to have produced what we feel are exciting facilities both at Hampers Common and in Rosemary’s Gardens.
“It is unfortunate our desire to give the children what they deserved as soon as possible, coincided with the worst deluge for a number of years which made Hampers Common vulnerable, but we are hoping to ‘mole’ that area and improve drainage.”
