Fantastic four win it for Petworth

Petworth Bowling Club can boast a Sussex county title.
Ian Harvey, Marc Lancaster, Kyle McGowan and Melvyn Lillywhite won through to this year's Sussex county championship finals day held at Worthing Pavilion BC.
The Petworth rink faced a Hove & Kingsway team in the 21-end final. The very close match eventually saw Petworth emerge victorious by 20 shots to 17.
This is the very first occasion in the Fours Championship's 48-year history that Petworth have claimed the title.
Petworth were also the only success for the West of the County in this year's finals and will now represent Sussex at the Bowls England national finals, to be held in Worthing.
Other title winners on the day included: Singles – O Ovett (Hove & Kingsway); pairs – A Smalldridge & D Anderson (Preston, Brighton); triples – L Cooper, A Sexton and A Finnie (Preston, Brighton); unbadged singles: M Woodhams (Uckfield); under-25 singles – Holland (Polegrove); double fours – White Rock BC, Hastings.

WITTERINGS
THE SUN came out for the 12 teams in Witterings men's invitation tournament.
The winners were the Chichester City team of Alan Bowler, Brian Butler, Ian Linfield and skip Brian Talmage.
Runners-up on shot difference after a tie on points by the Witterings II team skipped by Dave Bell, with third place going to Petworth BC, skipped by Mel Lillywhite.
Paul Connor Focus Investment Planning Limited sponsored the event and the Witterings ladies, led by Jean Edwards, helped on the day, which ended with a meal.
It is hoped to celebrate the Witterings & District BC 40th anniversary in 2009 by expanding the invitation event to include 24 teams in an all-day tournament with increased prize money.

Southbourne romped home to secure maximum points.

Southbourne struggled in the wet conditions, but returned home with four points.
PAGHAM
Pagham did not fare well in their latest friendlies, but the ladies tok six points from their 63-21 CM League win against Hotham.
The men's friendly against Chichester saw Pagham lose on three rinks and draw on the fourth for a 90-63 loss.
STEDHAM
In the last games of the Three Counties League, division two Stedham A lost 3-2 at Wonersh, but took second place overall.
Stedham B beat Weyburn 5-0 to secure division four.
In the Holbrook Cup semi-final at RAFA (Bognor), Stedham lost by five shots.
Two teams from Stedham reached the Rother Valley Cup final. T West, K Holland and E Holland beat J Spandley, M Spandley and L Stevens 6-2.

With Angus Anderson's four scoring a six on their last end and victories on the other rinks, Chichester took all ten points.

Chichester played Norfolk in the semi-final of the Hotham Open Tens.
Chichester's home team lost by five shots but their away squad stormed to a 36-shot triumph, giving Chichester victory by 31 shots. They face Aldingbourne in the final at Hotham this Saturday.
